Neat: Create New Card

team
Neat (now Rapyd)
Role
Senior Product Designer
As the embedded Senior Product Designer for the Neat Cards vertical, I owned the full E2E scope of reiterating the card creation and management experiences across web and mobile.
Working directly with the PM, Eng and CEO, I helped define the product vision, shaped the roadmap, and shipped a significantly more capable experience for Neat's growing SMB user base – touching more surfaces than originally scoped.
Refreshed New Card creation flow optimized for clarity and efficiency

(Before) Step 1: Searching for a cardholder with no filter and a buried CTA

(Before) Step 2: Selecting card details and configurations

(After) Step 1: Additional card naming and tagging features

(After) Step 2: Cardholder and card configurations all in one step
PROBLEM & opportunity
Outgrowing a flow built for simplicity
Neat's card product had traction but was hitting its ceiling. Business owners needed more flexibility, better organization, and a mobile experience that could keep up with how they actually ran their businesses. Cards were multiplying, teams were growing, and the system had no way to scale with them. KYC status was opaque, card organization was non-existent, and creating multiple cards wasn't even possible.
On web, I collapsed a 4-step creation flow into 3, introduced structure around card ownership, and designed components built to flex as card volume grew.
On mobile, the bigger unlock was reducing anxiety around KYC. Rather than blocking users during verification, I opened up the product so they could explore while waiting, turning a dead end into a moment of confidence.

Refreshed Neat mobile app key screens: Transactions, Cards List, Card Detail

impact
reducing friction for busy entrepreneurs
Owned the end-to-end redesign across six touchpoints:
• Web: Dashboard, Monthly Card Limit, and Card Creation
• Mobile: Transactions, Cards Overview, and Card Detail
The redesign reduced friction across the card creation journey, improved discoverability of key actions, and gave merchants a faster, more intuitive way to manage their team's cards.
Unfortunately, long-term post-launch data is not available, as Neat was acquired by Rapyd shortly after shipping.

Consolidated card details, clear card status at a glance, and full transaction transparency – all in one place
